Hyundai Motor India has launched Lounge Editions for its Creta, Alcazar, and Creta Electric SUVs, targeting buyers who want a more premium experience for rear passengers. All three models now include an 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment system, along with exclusive interior and exterior styling. Starting prices range from ₹19.22 lakh for the Creta Lounge Edition to ₹24.34 lakh for the Creta Electric Lounge Edition, with the Alcazar Lounge Edition priced at ₹21.81 lakh.

Entertainment and audio upgrades

The 11.6-inch rear entertainment screen—measuring 29.46 cm—supports OTT streaming, interactive gaming, phone mirroring, and apps through a certified app store. It pairs with the existing Bose 8-speaker audio system, which includes a front center speaker and subwoofer.

The Alcazar Lounge Edition also introduces a voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof. Hyundai’s decision to include this feature suggests a focus on creating a more immersive cabin experience, even in a compact SUV.

Interior and exterior refinements

All three Lounge Editions feature silver-colored interior inserts, Moonwhite ambient lighting, and a new seat pattern. Rear passengers get headrest cushions with Lounge branding. Externally, the models introduce Golden Bronze as a new color option, alongside black-painted exterior elements—such as skid plates, side sill garnishes, and ORVMs—to differentiate them from standard trims.

The Creta Lounge Edition is built on the King trim and offers two powertrain options: a 1.5-litre MPi petrol with IVT and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel with automatic transmission. Prices start at ₹19.22 lakh for the petrol variant, while the diesel version begins at ₹20.31 lakh. The IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) system in the petrol variant is optimized for smoother acceleration and better fuel efficiency, making it suitable for city driving conditions. Dual-tone versions add ₹1,500 to each price, featuring a combination of Moonwhite and other accent colors for a more dynamic exterior look.

The Alcazar Lounge Edition stands out by adopting a 5-seater layout instead of the usual three-row configuration. This shift prioritizes rear-seat comfort over additional seating capacity, as the third row in standard Alcazar models often compromises legroom and space. It’s available only with the 1.5-litre CRDi diesel automatic, priced at ₹21.81 lakh. The Creta Electric Lounge Edition, based on the Excellence Long Range variant, starts at ₹24.34 lakh and includes a dashcam and rear wireless charger. The wireless charger supports Qi-standard compatibility, allowing compatibility with most smartphones and smart accessories, while the dashcam includes parking mode functionality to monitor the vehicle when stationary.

Externally, the Creta Lounge Edition gets 18-inch matte-black alloy wheels, while the Alcazar Lounge Edition features 18-inch black alloy wheels. The Creta Electric Lounge Edition rides on 17-inch black aero alloy wheels. All three models share black skid plates, side sill garnishes, and a rear spoiler, maintaining a cohesive visual identity.

For families or frequent travelers who rely on rear-seat comfort, these updates address a growing demand for in-car entertainment and space optimization. The Alcazar’s shift to five seats suggests Hyundai is acknowledging that not all buyers need a third row, while the Creta Electric’s wireless charger reflects practicality for urban commuters. These changes position the Lounge Editions as more than just upscale trims—they’re a response to how people actually use their vehicles.

Pricing and market positioning

The Creta Lounge Edition is priced competitively, starting at ₹19.22 lakh, making it accessible for buyers who want premium rear-seat features without a steep price jump. The Alcazar Lounge Edition, at ₹21.81 lakh, targets those prioritizing space and luxury in a mid-sized SUV, while its 5-seater layout appeals to buyers who value rear-seat comfort over additional seating. The Creta Electric Lounge Edition, beginning at ₹24.34 lakh, aligns with the growing electric vehicle market, though its higher starting price may limit its appeal to budget-conscious buyers. The inclusion of a home charger option at ₹25.07 lakh adds convenience for early adopters of electric vehicles, addressing a key concern for potential buyers.

Hyundai’s Amit Dhaundiyal, Head of Product Strategy & Planning, emphasized that the Lounge Editions are designed to meet evolving customer expectations beyond basic mobility. “Customers today seek experiences that go beyond mobility,” he noted, highlighting the focus on comfort, connectivity, and exclusivity. The inclusion of rear-seat entertainment, gaming, and smart features suggests Hyundai is betting on in-car tech as a key differentiator in the compact SUV segment. Dhaundiyal also noted that the Lounge Editions reflect Hyundai’s commitment to delivering meaningful innovations, ensuring that each feature—from the entertainment system to the smart sunroof, contributes to a more rewarding driving experience.

While the Lounge Editions add value through entertainment and styling, their success will depend on whether buyers perceive these features as essential, or just nice-to-have upgrades. For Hyundai, the move reinforces its strategy of offering tiered configurations within the same model lineup, catering to different budget and preference segments. The Lounge Editions also serve as a testbed for future tech integrations, potentially expanding into areas like augmented reality navigation or advanced driver-assistance systems in upcoming models.
